Preserving the Breed
The Phu Quoc Ridgeback is a rare breed and the PQRA's Code of Ethics and guidelines is meant to help preserve the breed in temperament, form and health, as well as to protect the breed from exploitation as much as possible. The current position is to only recognize dogs that are certified by the initial governing body (VKA) with some exceptions. One of the functions of our Advisory Council will be to help us review first generation applicants to determine viability for registration. All F0 applicants will only be registered through coordination with the PQRA and recommendations from the advisory council.
Membership
The PQRA encourages those who are passionate about the Vietnamese Phu Quoc Ridgeback breed to apply. As an international club, the PQRA will accept applications from prospective members residing in any country. Prospective members will need to submit a completed membership application, which includes that they have read and agree to the PQRA's Constitution & Bylaws and Code of Ethics, and a small fee of $20 USD to be paid to the Phu Quoc Ridgeback Association. Members of the PQRA may register their dogs in the PQRA database, participate in PQRA hosted events and much more.
