Big Steps for the Phu Quoc Ridgeback Association

December 21, 2020

As 2021 approaches, the PQRA is making big changes. In addition to a new logo and new breed standard, the members of the PQRA are making moves to approach a variety of kennel clubs to consider the Phu Quoc Ridgeback as an official breed. We look forward to sharing everything the PQRA has in store for the breed and hope that those who are enthusiastic about the breed will join us in helping the breed grow.

The PQRA mourns the passing of Mr. Wayne Capriotti

August 7, 2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Wayne Capriotti, a member of our advisory panel, who died last night in his home in Saigon, Vietnam. Wayne was a Canadian who visited Vietnam and decided to stay because he fell in love with a wonderful Vietnamese woman, her beautiful homeland and its magical canine breeds, which included the Phu Quoc dogs. He welcomed everyone interested in the Phu Quoc dogs and provided guidance freely without judgement or criticism. He pushed for the better treatment of animals in Vietnam, pioneering the first and only pet magazine (Mê Thú CÆ°ng) in the country. His passion were animals and he worked relentlessly and passionately to further their interests and welfare. Wayne was an inspiration to many and will be greatly missed.  The PQRA sends our deepest sympathy and condolences to his family and friends.
